22 Slimming Superfoods

Right after I decided to lose my pregnancy weight, I casually opened a couple of women's magazines - from both Europe and Canada. And bam! (I am not kidding), two articles about superfoods that are slimming and will help or rather boost metabolism, detoxify, and minimize cravings. I wrote them all on a piece of paper and went straight to my grocery store. I bought ALL of them. They went into delicious meals, salads, or juts on their own. Not sure how much the powers of these specific foods helped, but my scale showed me a reduced number. Yes, my weight started moving down.

Here is the magic list (organized by food category):

Veggies

Avocado
- packed with fiber and healthy fats

Beans
- reduce appetite

Broccoli & Cauliflower
- very low calorie, prevent formation of fats

Carrot
- high in vitamins and very low calorie

Celery
- reduces salt content in the body

Cucumber
- helps to flush out toxins

Peppers (jalapeno, Thai, habanero)
- increase metabolism

Fruits/Berries

2 Months Progress (or Not)

The update on my journey to my pre-baby weight of 54kg (see my 1st post below). When I stepped on scale 2 months after I had baby David I was in shock. I was still 65 kg (145 lbs) - same weight as 6 weeks postpartum. How could it be? Is my scale lying? I am breastfeeding (burning at least 500 calories/day), maintaining healthy gluten free diet, staying active, etc. Our boy is gaining at least 30g per day, so I must be losing some. So I decided to step up a bit - cardio, weight, and yoga classes at Goodlife; drink more water, and eliminate all gluten foods. To make me feel better, I looked at my pregnancy belly (39 weeks). Oh so cute. Tough work ahead to get those extra pounds off to make my belly cute again!

How One Mama Decided To Lose It

This is a true image of Fab Mama. I would like you to join me in my journey to a healthy road to my pre-pregnancy weight. I will post updates, pictures, and tips on what is working or not working for me. I hope this will be your learning source (perhaps) and my personal motivation booster. Some stats to begin with: pre-pregnancy weight - 55kg (121lbs); weight at 41 weeks - 78.5kg (173lbs); weight at 4 weeks postpartum - 66kg (146lbs). What I have done so far: breastfeeding; no gym; walks with stroller every other day; running around house doing laundry; no sugar/sweets (or very limited); no gluten grains; lots of water - about 2L or more; lots of raw vegetables/fruit (excluding bananas and grapes). Disclaimer: pls consult your Dr before trying any of my exercise/diet changes.
